TdF #21: Kittel ist der schnellste

July 26, 2013

Kittel confirmed he is the best of this year’s sprinters as he powered to the line ahead of Greipel and Cav. That seemed to be the order of the race as Kittel won four stages. Cav’s lead out train did not fire well enough and he ended up on the rougher part of the road at the line. Perhaps he is missing his second kick that used to take him to the line first, or the Germans are just not scared of him anymore.

The stage was true to form with a long easy start for Froome and Sky to enjoy. A few intrepid were off the front for a few km but were always going to be caught. The sprint teams took control late in the stage and lead out the fast men as daylight was fading.

Froome crossed the line arm in arm with his team mates. A well-deserved victory for the Kenyan who is so quiet and measured off the bike, but very exciting on it. A superb Tour. Chapeau.
